NEWS: Downton Abbey’s Harry Hadden-Paton Making New York Theater Debut

Attention, Anglophiles! In case you missed it we wanted to make sure our fans were aware that Bertie Pelham’s in the house! Harry Hadden-Paton (Bertie Pelham on Downton Abbey/Martin Charteris on The Crown) has now officially made his New York theater debut as Professor Henry Higgins in Lerner & Loewe’s My Fair Lady! No stranger to the theater (with some of London’s West End performances on his resume) Harry is now testing the waters on our side of the pond!

Lerner & Loewe’s My Fair Lady has returned to Broadway for the first time in 25 years. Opening in April 2018 it has already been enjoying a good run but we wanted to shine a spotlight on it to make sure it didn’t slip under the radar somehow and that our fans were in the know (there’s nothing worse than hearing about an event you would have loved to attend only AFTER the fact)! So if you want to see one of our favorite Brits now is your chance!

Downton Abbey ties aside, though, My Fair Lady also holds a special place in the hearts of many of vintage lovers (we’re looking at you, Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison fans)! My Fair Lady is the story of Eliza Doolittle, a poor young Cockney girl who sells flowers on the street, and Henry Higgins, a professor of linguistics who, upon meeting this girl, is determined to challenge himself by transforming her into a real lady…but it’s not going to be easy…

Whether you’re familiar with My Fair Lady or not it is a wonderful musical with amazing classic songs like “The Rain in Spain,” “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly” and, of course,  “I Could Have Danced All Night” so check Harry Haddon-Paton and the rest of the cast out at the Beaumont Theater, 150 West 65th Street, New York, NY 10023.
