Many are familiar with Nina Simone’s classic 1965 version of “Feeling Good” from her “I Put A Spell On You” album but many might not know this song was originally written for a musical. It has since been covered by everyone from John Coltrane to Michael Buble. We’d like to highlight this version from “Verve Remixed: The First Ladies” because, while people don’t often like remixes of classics, when done right they can be amazing. Modern Moment: Bear With…
Being a fan of all things vintage will inevitably introduce you to the period drama which will inevitably introduce you to British period dramas which will inevitably introduce you to British actors which will inevitably make you fans of these British actors which will inevitably make you branch out to these British actors’ other works which will inevitably end up making you a full-fledged Anglophile before you even know what hit you. And here we are.
You may know her as “Chummy” on the British period drama Call the Midwife, “Miranda” on the British comedy series Miranda or you may not know her yet at all and, if not, allow us to introduce you to Miranda Hart. Miranda is a fave here at Vintage HQ and we’re currently obsessing over her book Is It Just Me? It’s hilarious, relatable and even better is the Is It Just Me?: Audible Audiobook read by Miranda herself! We highly recommend you take a break from the stress of adulting in this modern world and have a few laughs over this engaging book!
